South Granville Is Changing Quickly

I spent some time in South Granville today, and this neighbourhood is clearly at a turning point.
The Broadway Subway and new development around the corridor will change how South Granville looks and functions. That makes it important that residents and local businesses have a real say in what comes next.
If elected as a Vancouver City Councillor, I will support planning that keeps new development in character with the neighbourhood, protects active storefronts and cultural spaces, and gives residents meaningful input before major changes are approved.
I will also push the City to do more for local businesses affected by construction, including maintaining pedestrian access, loading and delivery access, clear signage, and better coordination around major street work.
On transit, City Council does not control TransLink or the Broadway Subway. What it does control is much of the street network around them. I will support safer bus stops, better pedestrian connections, improved accessibility, and practical bus-priority measures where they make sense, while working with TransLink and the Province on the parts the City cannot control directly.
South Granville should become easier to get to and easier to move through without losing what makes it South Granville.
